The Dirty Works are a three-piece southern country punk-rock band straight out of the bible-belt. The Dirty Works’ first two efforts, locally released Frogwater Injection & Biscuits and Liquor gained them local attention. now with the release of their newest E.P., they are on top of their game.
Chris has also recently released a solo album entitled 50 Acres of Pain, this is a raw stripped-down acoustic blues approach to his tales.
In late 2005 the band was offered an unexpected & exciting opportunity by Atlanta based Worldstorm Arts Lab, who spent two years following and shooting film of The Dirty Works. The final result, a documentary titled Rebel Scum the Movie, has been gaining rave reviews. Rebel Scum is a look at The Dirty Works and the often unstable, unpredictable, bloody, dysfunctional and dangerous world they live in.
Lead singer Christopher Scum’s straightforward, sometimes crude yet insightful lyrics vividly attack a hodgepodge of subject matter such as addiction, governmental control, loss of rights and religious hypocrisy.
Celebrating five years as a band, the guys are already working on material for their upcoming summer CD, and waiting for the official release of Rebel Scum the Movie.
